Edward Koning

Dr. Edward Anthony Koning is associate professor of Political Science at the University of Guelph. Most of his research investigates the politics of immigration in Western democracies, specifically regarding immigrants’ social rights and the role of populist anti-immigrant parties. He is the author of Immigration and the Politics of Welfare Exclusion (which appeared in 2019 with University of Toronto Press), and has publications in several academic journals on a variety of related issues, including anti-immigrant politics, institutionalist theory, public opinion on immigration, and citizenship policy.
